GolferAI

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 19, 2026

This policy explains what GolferAI does with your information. It covers the GolferAI app for iPhone and Android, published by Mohsin Ajmal, an independent developer ("we", "us"). It is short because there is genuinely very little to tell.

The short version.

Your swing videos never leave your device. Recording, body tracking and every part of the analysis run on your phone. We never receive them, and we have no way to see them.

There is no account, no sign-in and no server of ours. No ads, no analytics, no tracking SDKs, no advertising identifiers. We do not sell or share your data, because we never collect it.

The only information that goes anywhere is your purchase, which is handled by Apple so that Pro unlocks and can be restored.

2. What stays on your device

All of the following is stored locally, in the app's own storage on your phone. None of it is uploaded, and we hold no copy.

Swing videos

Videos you record in the app or import from your photo library, along with any trim you apply. They are analysed on the device and kept with the swing so you can replay it.

Analysis and practice data

  • Body-tracking results and the measurements derived from them
  • Detected faults, their ranking, and which one is your current focus
  • Practice sessions, drills performed, reps and minutes
  • Your progress history and the verdicts drawn from it
  • Drawings you add to a swing — lines, circles, angles and pen marks

Your profile

Handedness, height, preferred units, and optionally your handicap. Height is used to convert normalised measurements into inches or centimetres; handedness decides how the swing is interpreted. No name, no email, no date of birth — the app never asks.

What GolferAI does not collect

No account, email address, phone number or password. No advertising identifier, no device fingerprint, no location, no contacts, no health or fitness records, no analytics or crash-reporting SDK, no third-party advertising. GolferAI does not track you across apps or websites, and so never shows an App Tracking Transparency prompt.

3. The keychain counter — one honest exception

GolferAI keeps two small values in your device's keychain rather than in app storage: how many free analyses you have used, and whether a one-time offer has already been shown.

We are telling you plainly because this has a consequence: keychain values survive deleting the app, so reinstalling does not reset your three free analyses. That is deliberate — it keeps the free allowance meaning the same thing for everyone.

These are counters and flags, nothing more. They contain no personal information, stay on your device, and are never transmitted. They are removed if you erase the device or reset its keychain.

4. Camera, photos and microphone

Camera is used for one thing: filming your swing. As the app's own permission prompt puts it, GolferAI records your swing to analyse it on your iPhone, and videos never leave your device. Live framing checks — level, whole body in frame, size and club room — run on the camera feed on the device and are not recorded or sent.

Photo library access is requested only when you choose to import an existing clip, and only the clip you pick is read.

Audio. The optional coach voice during drills is spoken by your device's built-in speech synthesiser. It plays audio; it does not listen. GolferAI does not record sound and does not request microphone access.

5. Purchases

Pro is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment — we never see your payment details, billing address, or Apple Account. The app asks the operating system whether a valid purchase exists, and unlocks Pro if so.

There is no third-party subscription or analytics provider in the loop. Apple's handling of your purchase is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

6. Notifications

Notifications are local to your device — scheduled on the phone, never pushed from a server. The only one is an optional reminder, which you choose to turn on, shortly before a time-limited offer expires. There is no push infrastructure and no device token is collected. You can turn notifications off in your device settings at any time.

7. How long data is kept, and how to delete it

On your device: your swings, analyses, practice history and profile stay as long as the app is installed. You can delete individual swings in the app. Deleting GolferAI removes all of it — permanently, with no copy on our side and no way to recover it. If your history matters to you, keep a device backup.

Videos you imported from your photo library stay in your photo library; deleting the app does not touch them.

Keychain counters and purchase records survive deletion, as explained in sections 3 and 5. Apple retains purchase records as billing records under its own policy.

8. Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, delete and port your personal data. With GolferAI you exercise them yourself, on the device: the data is in front of you in the app, editable by you, and deletable by deleting the app.

We cannot fulfil an access, export or deletion request on your behalf, because we hold no personal data about you and have no account by which to identify you. That is a consequence of the design, not an evasion.

We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under US state privacy laws, and we do not engage in cross-context behavioural advertising.

9. Children

GolferAI contains no objectionable content and is rated suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children — in fact we collect no identifying information from anyone, of any age, and the app has no accounts, no messaging and no social features. A child's swing videos stay on the device exactly as an adult's do. Parents and guardians should supervise purchases, which are made through the Apple Account holder's payment method.

10. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy if the app changes what it does with data — for example if a future version adds optional cloud backup or a coach-sharing feature. Any such feature would be opt-in, and described here before it ships. The current version is always the one on this page, and the "last updated" date tells you when it changed.
